Refunds & Cancellations
Last updated: September 30, 2026
This text is published in more than one language. If the versions ever differ, the English text prevails.
Short, with no fine print: what applies to everything you can buy on PlayWhydunit (tokens, a story or the Pass).
What you can buy
Tokens are prepaid questions for the AI Game Master: 1 token = 1 question. They are not money and not virtual currency, they hold no monetary value, they cannot be transferred and cannot be exchanged for cash, and they never expire. Every token pack is a one-off purchase.
A story to play with your friends is yours to keep once you buy it.
The Pass is a subscription that renews every month until you cancel it.
14 days, no questions asked, for anything you have not used
If you bought something and have not used it at all, write to us within 14 days of the purchase and you get the full amount back, no questions asked, nothing deducted. A duplicate or accidental charge is always refunded in full, whatever it was for. When a pack is refunded, its tokens are removed from your balance. If you delete your account, any unused tokens go with it and are not paid out.
Once used, it is no longer refundable
The right to a refund ends the first time you use what you bought:
- tokens: once any token of the pack has been spent (every question answered, every hint and every solution revealed has been delivered in full);
- a story: once you have started playing it;
- the Pass: it starts the moment you buy it, because its benefits apply at once, so from that moment it counts as used and is not refundable.
At checkout you expressly ask for immediate delivery and acknowledge that, for whatever you use, you thereby lose the 14-day right of withdrawal that EU law grants for digital content.
Cancelling the Pass
You can cancel the Pass at any time: it stops renewing and stays active until the end of the month you have paid for. Nothing is charged after you cancel.
When the fault is ours
If a question fails for a technical reason (the Game Master does not answer, the connection drops, something of ours breaks), the token is returned to your wallet automatically. You do not have to ask, and you never lose a question because of our mistake. It is written into the system, not promised.
How to request a refund
We are the seller: PlayWhydunit, a sole trader established in Cyprus (full seller details in the Terms). Payments on the website are processed securely by Stripe, as a payment services provider and not as the seller, and we never see card details. Refunds are issued through Stripe, back to the same payment method, and the full amount you paid comes back, with nothing deducted.
If you bought through the app on the App Store or Google Play, the refund is requested from Apple or Google, under their own rules; we cannot issue it ourselves.
Purchases are not available in every country: we currently do not sell tokens to buyers in the United Kingdom. If such a purchase completes anyway, no tokens are credited and the amount is refunded automatically, with nothing for you to ask for. Message us from the contact page with the email used for the purchase and what happened; we reply within 2 business days.
These terms supplement our Terms of Service and do not affect your statutory consumer rights.
